Parent participation

Our parent community provides the support that we need to keep a low child-teacher ratio every day.

Classroom participation allows parents to share the preschool experience with their child, meet their child(ren)’s friends and other parents.  Participating Parents work with highly experienced teachers to provide children with a positive, supportive learning environment.

2s-3s program and 3s-4s program:

  • 3 participating parents daily
  • 10-11 parent participation days a school year*

*A limited amount of reduced (50%) participation contracts are available.

Pre-K program:

While parents are not required to participate on a regular basis, there are a handful of field trips and classroom celebrations throughout the school year that rely on parent support.  We also encourage our parents to come into the classroom when their schedules allow.  They can spend time with the children reading, singing, playing games, directing an art or cooking project, and more!

All TOPS families are required to:

  • serve on a parent committee (executive board, fundraising, maintenance, or special events)
  • work at one of the six scheduled Saturday morning maintenance days
