Class Schedule:
9:20am – Program begins. This is a good time for parents who are not working that day to talk to each other while the children are playing. Please don’t distract working parents. 9:20-9:50 am – Free time and snack. The children are free to choose an activity from among the curriculum presented each day. A nutritious snack is available for the children as they are hungry. 9:50 am – Clean up time. Children participating in putting our toys away, coming to the circle rug, putting on shoes and getting ready to go outside. 10:00am-11:00am – Outdoor Activities. Children go outside and participate in all of the outdoor curriculum. 11:00am-11:50am – Indoor Activities. Another free play and circle time. 11:50-11:55 am – Pick up Time. Don’t forget to sign out your child. Please pick-up your child promptly
8:45-9:00am– Arrival Time. This is a good time for parents who are not working that day to talk to each other while the children are playing. Please don’t distract working parents. 9:05am – Circle time. Activities include singing songs, jokes, music, dance, and orientation to the day. 9:20-10:15 am – Free Choice–Inside Play. We find that children choose the activities that will teach them the most. Curriculum is available in art, literacy and cooperative games, kitchen snack, science, music movement and blocks, dramatic play and reading loft. 9:20-11:25 am - Snack time. The snack ingredients are prepared and available to the children when they are hungry. Children wash hands, prepare and enjoy their snack and perhaps conversation or a story with the kitchen parent and other preschoolers. 10:15am-11:30 am – Outdoor/Inside. The doors to the outside playground are open and children have to opportunity to be inside or outside at their interest. Outside curriculum includes both large and small motor activities, wheeled toys, sand and water play, and climbing structures. 11:30 am – Clean up time. Children are encouraged to help with clean up, putting away toys, and dress up clothes. They return to circle for closing circle and to be picked up by parents or released to LB/PG for the afternoon program. 12:00 pm – School ends/Lunch Bunch begins. A teacher or staff member sits at each lunch table to assist. 12:30 pm – Lunch Bunch ends/Playgroup begins. Don’t forget to sign out your child. Please pick-up your child promptly. 2:30 pm – Playgroup ends. Don’t forget to sign out your child. Please pick-up your child promptly.
DK Program: 8:45-9:00 am– Arrival. This is a time for parents to talk to the teachers or each other while the children are playing. 9:00-9:40 am Outside Time. Outside curriculum includes opportunities for large and small motor activities, wheeled toys, sand and water play. 9:40-10:00 am – Circle. We talk about our day, and things relevant to the children: nature, weather, conflicts, we laugh, sing, tell and read stories, do math and graphs and play games. 10:00-11:00 am Inside Curriculum. Children participate in 1 to 2 teacher-supervised activities as well as a range of child-directed free choice activities. 11:00-11:40 am – Free choice throughout the school. Children may play inside, have free play outside and enjoy snack with the preschool children. 11:40-12:00 noon Clean up time/Quiet reading/Circle time. 12:00 noon – School ends/Lunch Bunch begins. DK children who attend PG are walked upstairs for lunch and playgroup. A teacher/staff person sits at each lunch table to assist. 12:30 pm – Lunch Bunch ends/Playgroup begins.
